MobilePac FAQ'S
How loud are
the MobilePac Units?
The MobilePac units are designed for outdoor
and special events applications and we
use advanced compressor technology to
further reduce mechanical noise. The
blowers or fans are all reciprocating type
and reduce the air noise of the unit.
There is no dB rating for the MobilePac because there are to many variables
involved with this unit.

Does
the unit make water? What happens with the
condensate?
Yes, the MobilePac are true air
conditioners and some moisture is removed
from the air which results in condensate.
The condensate collects in a pan and is
then pumped out of the unit through a
condensate pump.

How often will I
need to empty the tank?
There is no tank on the MobilePac, but there is a condensate pump to
discharge the condensate to a drain line.
Condensate generation is based on various
temperature and humidity levels as well as
user installation and control settings. In
the warm, humid summer months the amount
of condensate generated will be greater
than in the cool, dry winter months.

How large is the
condensate tank?
Again there is not a tank but a
condensate pump. The water will
collect in a condensate drain pan with-in
the MobilePac unit, drain into the pump
reservoir and from there the condensate is
pumped out of the unit through 3/8"
vinyl tubing. Now you can run your
condensate line to a drain, sink or to the
outside.

What if I need to
run my MobilePac unit 24/7?
The MobilePac unit has a built-in
condensate pump that can be used to allow
continuous uninterrupted cooling. The pump
has a 20’ lift capability.

How
long can the condensate line be?
The MobilePac unit has a
built-in condensate pump that comes with
enough 3/8" plastic tubing to reach
outside the unit through the knock out
hole. You may require more tubing
than what is supplied with the pump.
You can either attach the new section of
tubing to the supplied tubing with a
coupler or purchase a new section of
tubing to fit the required length of your
condensate drain line. You can go as
far as you need to with the tubing as long
as you keep the tubing sloping down at an
angle. Again if you need to go a
long distance to your drain then we
recommend that you go up as much as you
can (up to 20') then go towards your drain
with the tubing sloping down at an angle.

Do I need to vent
the unit to the outside?
No, you do not need to vent the MobilePac unit to the outside. If you are
cooling an enclosed environment
you do need to discharge the condenser air
(warm air) out of the space you are trying
to cool. You can attach the warm air
duct to the unit by using the quick connect
flange or if the MobilePac is outside,
then the condenser air can free blow.
If the MobilePac sets outside the
application then the cold air can be
ducted into the application.

What kind of
maintenance is required?
Unit maintenance is quick and easy. The
MobilePac series has a totally sealed
refrigeration system. It should not be
necessary to recharge your unit. The only
regular preventative maintenance is
cleaning the filters. You want to make
sure that you keep the drain line clear on
the condensate pump.

What do I need to
do if I am going to store the unit?
Before storing the unit you want to
ensure the evaporator coil is dry and the
condensate is emptied from the unit. First
you would operate the MobilePac unit in the
fan mode for about 5 minutes to dry out
the evaporator coil and get all the
moisture off of the coil. Make sure the
condensate is emptied, turn off the unit,
and wipe down the cabinet with a soft
cloth and mild detergent. Your MobilePac
unit will be in prime shape when your next
cooling need arises.

MobilePac Application FAQ'S
How
large of an area can I cool with the
MobilePac?
That depends on what is in
the area you are trying to cool. All air
conditioning units are rated in BTU, or
British Thermal Unit, which is a unit of
measure. There are 12,000 BTU to 1 ton of
air conditioning. For equipment cooling we
need to determine the amount of power
being used by the equipment in the room so
we can do a basic heat load calculation.

How
cold can I get my room/tent?
There is no way to tell.
The MobilePac unit will give you
approximately a 20°F temperature
differential – for instance, if your
room is 80°F, the unit will deliver
approximately 60°F air. This does not
mean that your room will be 60°F. . .
that all depends on the heat load in the
room/tent.
TOP
OF PAGE
Can I
plug into an extension cord?
The MobilePac is hard-wired
and we do not recommend that you operate
the MobilePac unit using an extension cord.
TOP
OF PAGE
Do I
need a dedicated circuit to run the MobilePac unit?
The MobilePac is hard-wired
and is a
mechanical device and could potentially
put noise onto the line when the
compressor starts and stops.
TOP
OF PAGE
What
other accessory items do I need for my
application?
The MobilePac has many
options and accessories to keep your hot
spots cool.
TOP
OF PAGE
Who can
I get to install my MobilePac unit?
The MobilePac unit is
designed for quick set-up. A local
contractor or electrician would be able to
install your MobilePac unit by providing
the proper electrical power and connecting
the unit to the power supply. You
may also require the services of a
handyman or plumber, depending on the
location of your condensate drain line for
your condensate pump.
